Our church buildings are located in South Hatfield, close to the Hilltop area and the University of Hertfordshire (Sunday Services) and at Gracemead House in Hatfield Town Centre (Wednesday prayer and worship service and other meetings). Church

THE WADES

By Car

From junction 3 of the A1(M). This roundabout is reached by the A1(M) from the north and south, and by the A414 from the east and west.

Head south on the A1001, signposted "London A1(M)". This will take you towards junction 2 of the A1(M). At the next roundabout turn left, following the A1001 towards Welham Green.

After about 150 metres, take the first left into Bishops Rise. Go up Bishops Rise and take the third right (about half a mile) into a street called "The Wades". There should be a road sign to "City Church" on the right-hand side of Bishops Rise pointing down The Wades. The church is at the end on the right. 

The entrance to the car park is from "Acacia Street".

By Bus

The church at The Wades can be reached by bus from the Galleria, Rail Station, and Town Centre (where Gracemead House is located), as well as from further afield.

To reach that church from the Galleria, take the 602 from stop D at 10:12am. Get off at the Esso petrol station and continue on foot.

To reach the church from the Rail Station (via the Town Centre), take the 340 from stop B at 10.35am. Get off at the "Travellers Lane, Milwards" stop, cross over the road and walk up "Southdown Road". The church is directly opposite you when you reach the top.

Otherwise, please consult the journey planner (link on the right at the top of the page). All buses apart from the 340 (see above) approach on "Bishops Rise". The Esso petrol station on Bishops Rise (above again) is between the timetabled stops "High Dells" and "Garden Avenue". A full list of buses serving the church is as follows:

  • 602: Watford, Radlett, Shenley, London Colney, St Albans, HATFIELD
  • 340: WGC, HATFIELD, St Albans, Leverstock Green, Hemel Hempstead
  • 797: Baldock, Letchworth, Hitchin, Stevenage, HATFIELD, Hendon, London
  • 603: WGC, HATFIELD (Mondays to Fridays only)

 

On Foot From the University of Hertfordshire, College Lane Campus.

Exit through the "Roberts Way" gatehouse and turn right into Bishops Rise (away from the town centre), go past the petrol station, then take the third left down "The Wades". The church is at the end on the right.

GRACEMEAD HOUSE

The new church building (Wednesdays and other meetings) is located in Hatfield town centre opposite Asda and Hatfield Libraray - on the other side of the dual carriageway ("Queensway") that runs through the middle of the town.  It is on all major bus routes.
